Car sharing - At Norwich Ramblers we are encouraging car sharing to the start of our walks. This will reduce pressure on leaders to find large enough car parks, as well as having obvious cost and environmental benefits. We will set up a WhatsApp group for those Ramblers' members willing to take part in car-pooling to give & receive lifts. If you do not have your own transport, you can discuss sharing fuel & parking costs with the driver as your contribution. Sunday 08:00am 11 August 2024 10.5 miles LONDON BY TRAIN, A new walk in London. We will meet at Norwich train station at 0745 to get the 0800 train to Liverpool Street, returning on the 1730 train. There is limited availability for the £20 return offer. This time we will be visiting Battersea power station and some of use will have a go in Lift 109 which pops out the top of one of the chimneys. Sunday 10:00am 17 November 2024 9 miles HORSFORD, NORWICH GROUP AGM. A 9 mile walk followed by the group's AGM and a social at Horsford Village Hall. We are able to park at the village hall prior to the walk, although parking may be limited owing to football matches on the adjoining playing field. There is also parking on nearby roads. We have organised a bar (another reason to car share) and it is hoped that once we have got the formal business of the AGM out of the way, people will stay to socialise.
