Car sharing - At Norwich Ramblers we are encouraging car sharing to the start of our walks. This will reduce pressure on leaders to find large enough car parks, as well as having obvious cost and environmental benefits. We will set up a WhatsApp group for those Ramblers' members willing to take part in car-pooling to give & receive lifts. If you do not have your own transport, you can discuss sharing fuel & parking costs with the driver as your contribution. Sunday 10:00am 17 November 2024 9 miles HORSFORD, NORWICH GROUP AGM. A 9 mile walk followed by the group's AGM (at 2pm) and a social at Horsford Village Hall. We are able to park at the village hall prior to the walk, although parking may be limited owing to football matches on the adjoining playing field. There is also parking on nearby roads. We have organised a bar (another reason to car share) and it is hoped that once we have got the formal business of the AGM out of the way, people will stay to socialise. Join me on Sunday the 24th of November for our second Norwich Ramblers social outing to see the London Christmas lights. We will be visiting amongst other places Covent garden, the Ice rink at Somerset House, Leadenhall market and Carnaby Street. Spaces are limited. We will be catching the 0800 from Norwich Station to Liverpool Street and returning on the 1730 train. Arrive at 0745 for the 0800 train . Tickets are currently £24 return but numbers are limited. Although there is another group walk in London today, PLEASE CAR SHARE, IF YOU CAN, FROM THE "THE GULL INN" LARGE LAY-BY ON THE A146, 1.5 miles West of the starting point. The walk goes through Carlton St Peter, Ashby St Mary & Bergh Upton, affording lovely open views. Crossing the very busy A146 twice, so dogs not recommended. Registered assistance dogs only.
